School Vision
We have the following ‘vision’ for all who are associated with our school:
ACHIEVING OUR POTENTIAL!
ACCEPTING CHALLENGE, BRINGING EFFORT AND PERSEVERING
He rākau morimori, e kore e taea te piki
The whakatauki – “He rākau morimori, e kore e taea te piki” Was suggested to us when our name ‘Mātai Rangatira’ was gifted to us by Te Taumutu Rūnanga. Translated it means: A tree shorn of branches cannot be climbed, and it’s interpretation is – A difficult goal must be approached step by step without trying to find a shortcut.
School Values
The following four values and underlining social skills are embedded in all we do:

Each term we have an emphasis on one of our values with the underlining Social Skills each being focused on for two weeks.
Term 1 Focus: Whanaungatanga
Term 2 Focus: Mahi Tahi
Term 3 Focus: Wananga
Term 4 Focus: Manaakitanga
